We are pleased to announce that highest fundraising teams will be awarded fully sponsored place(s) in the COINS 3 Peaks USA Challenge.

The COINS USA event was launched last year and involves teams from across the USA construction and service industry, all competing to climb three high mountains in New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Visiting Autumn in Vermont is one of those trips that should be on everyone’s “to do” list, you will witness one of Nature’s most spectacular shows as the majestic peaks turn ablaze with reds, oranges, yellows, and golds in a most breathtaking fashion.

This is an incredible opportunity to be part of another great industry event and if it is possible, one with even more astonishing scenery to enjoy.

Places will be awarded to selected individuals from the highest fundraising companies. Those selected may take the role of walker or support crew in the event – so if you have been an amazing fundraiser but do not want to take up the walking challenge - there is no need to worry – you will be able to take advantage of this great opportunity as part of the support team.

Awards will be made to:
Highest Fundraising Company 3 Places
Second Highest Fundraising Company 2 Places
Next Five Highest Fundraising Companies 1 Place each

Note – the award of places is based on money deposited not pledged amounts.

Your flights, transport, accommodation will all be taken care of. You will join with other winners to form two teams, with additional team members being provided as necessary from COINS. There will be no fundraising obligation attached to the COINS sponsored places but we would of course be delighted if you are able to raise any further funds.

Prior to taking part you will be required to attend one briefing session in London where we will tell you all about the USA event. There will also be presentations on the projects where the money you have raised has been or will be spent and of course you will have an opportunity to meet with other members of group and those who will form your team. We will put together people of similar walking standards where possible – but believe us when we say this is an experience of a life time to enjoy, there is no need to rush!

A group of twelve students from Stepping Stones School arrived in Llanberis, Snowdon last Sunday. Every single one of them boarded the mountain train headed for the top. They disembarked the train into unfamiliar territory, the rocky terrain only a few hundred meters below the summit of the mighty Snowdon. Supported by teachers and volunteers and guided by mountain leader Mark Ward they proceeded to climb up one of the toughest sections of the mountain - the part most of the 3 peakers complain about!

Safely back down I wonder what they all thought of their first experience on Snowdon and what the 3 peakers, including two teams of teachers and parents, thought about meeting the children in the mountains?

Why don’t you leave a comment and share your thoughts?

Was it a tough year all round - from raising money in a challenging economic climate to climbing mountains in the snow! My view is that it just seemed to make the challenge even more rewarding for teams and despite the obstacles altogether the construction industry has pledged more than £260,000!

Really like to hear what you think about getting a team together, fundraising and taking part this year … Ben Nevis in the snow, Scafell at the crack of dawn, Snowdon when you really need a lie down, that final stretch of tarmac, the views, the finish line, the first beer and that well earned hog roast. Hearing firsthand about the projects of the COINS Foundation, the difference it will actually make to people - where every penny you raise will be spent.

What were your worst and best moments of the event … and have you recovered enough to sign up for more?
